What is Leadership or Executive Coaching?

Leadership or executive team members are often faced with new challenges that they have little experience in and that were not factored into their promotion to senior roles, such as managing larger teams, broader stakeholder communication and influence, and a need for more strategic vs. tactical decisions.

Leadership coaching helps team members build or strengthen these diverse skills and ignite their full leadership potential, from developing a vision to leading and influencing a team to communicating effectively to different audiences.

Is IGNITE™ suited to my whole leadership team?

Pivot Forward’s IGNITE™ program has two elements, and we can discuss whether either or a combination of both is more suited to your organization’s needs.

IGNITE™ for Teams offers group coaching to the whole leadership team, delivered via Zoom and focused on enhancing team dynamics, collaboration, communication and relationships.

Some organizations choose to supplement this with IGNITE™ for Leaders for specific members of their leadership team. This program offers 1:1 coaching to key members and focuses on their individual challenges in the workplace and growth opportunities to help them become a more effective team leader.

I manage and give feedback to my leadership team, why should I engage a coach?

As an experienced coach, I provide objective insights and feedback from a position slightly removed from your organization. Although I take the time to understand your team’s context and challenges, looking in from the outside allows me to spot things you may not be able to see, or work with team members on things that may be too “political” for you to address personally.

Engaging a coach allows for continuous and reliable support, even during stressful and busy times for your team mentors or managers.

I also use a holistic approach to coaching that focuses not just on work, but also the interplay between professional and personal spheres. This way, I ensure that what’s happening outside the workplace (often invisible to managers) is not preventing someone from showing up fully and being the best possible team member and leader.

Are you able to facilitate a workshop at our in-person All Hands or team offsite?

Yes! I regularly lead team workshops and events and would be glad to discuss this with you. Typical topics include fostering trust within a team; how to adapt to different learning and communication styles; elevated listening; cross-cultural collaboration; growth mindsets for giving and receiving feedback; and strength-based transformational change. These are usually half day or full day workshops, and I’m glad to discuss different options with you over a discovery call.
